Turaround: 2 days System crash due to lid shutting during OS update. Machine would no longer boot and had been Archive/Install restored using Mac's original 10.3 disc. All software unresponsive as machine had previously been updated to Leopard, and all application preferences lost. Fix: Music folder, DVD library (Delicious Library): ~2000 items & info restored, Creative Suite 3 restored, Quark 7 restored, Fonts restored, Font management software updated. All OS updates installed, computer up-to-date. |

Turaround: 2 hours Machine crashing and hard drive failure, making strange noises and losing data. Machine took apart and all components removed and reseated. Cause appeared to be an impact due to crack on rack ear. All problems eliminated now machine is 100% reliable. Additionally Pro Tools Digi 001 hardware added and configured.
Turaround: 2 days Comprehensive future-proofing programme including Leopard upgrade, 2Ghz RAM installation, AirPort card installation and Time Machine backup configuration.
Turaround: 3 days Machine would not charge. Battery diagnosed faulty, but additionally inverter board cracked from a fall causing short circuit. Deconstruct, replace power inverter board, reconstruct, replace battery.
Turaround: 2 days Complete system reinstall; fatal system crash due to corrupt system fonts.
Setup and install both operating systems after enabling Boot Camp on hard drive. Partition 80Gb OSX/40 Gb XP. Sync iPod nano, install Adobe Creative Suite Premium CS3, Add fonts.
Turaround: 2 weeks Logic board failure - machine warranty return programme missed due to age of machine. New logic board sourced and fitted for 40% less than Apple service center price. With Machine now running correctly a Leopard upgrade was performed and all respective updates aplied. |
